“I’m absolutely exhausted and so very tired of all the anxiety, negativity, and stress these days. Too often, my mind is consumed with draining thoughts, and every muscle in my body seems tense. It hurts. I don’t want to feel this way anymore. I don’t want to feel like I live in a whirlwind of constant worry and exhaustion. I don’t want to just ‘get by’ day- to- day…”
Those are the opening lines spoken by my good friend Carrie who shared with me her burdens. I can feel her energy draining with worry by the unhappiness of the world, her weary voice concern about life, and what will become of it. The world is shifting and transforming into the unknown, and that scares us all.
It can be hard to focus on the positive and keep our energy and vibes lively. The world is consumed with so much catastrophe every day, stories of loss and grief. People are living in a time of uneasiness and agony, worrying about family and friends, worrying if we will have enough food and supplies to last us until the virus ends, worrying about how to pay the bills, worrying about how it will change humanity. Some of us are feeling the pressure of being alone, lost, and confused.
I, too, find myself at times worrying. We are human’s after all, and worry is part of thought, images, emotions, and actions that generate a negative feeling of a repetitive uncontrollable act. Our minds are incredibly powerful. They can bring us down or lift us up at a moment’s notice. How we think about things literally changes everything we do daily!
Jesus said that if we had faith the size of a mustard seed, we could tell the mountain to move and it would move. These words show that even the Son of God knows the power of thoughts since words are formed from ideas. All we have to do is believe in what we think and allow those thoughts to come to fruition.
If you notice, every circumstance a person is in was a direct result of what they were thinking. It happens every time. There is always a match, no matter what. Your thoughts will still be in alignment with a part of the universe, whether it is for good or for evil. It will always connect.
Since thoughts are powerful, it only fits that the feelings we have to be conducive to what we want. If you think prosperity, you will receive success, abundance, and wealth. If you think poverty, you will reap struggles, suffering, and pain. No matter what your station in life may be, what you are right now is the way you thought previously. Always remember that. It is imperative to keep this in mind. What you think about you will manifest.
This is why the emphasis has been placed throughout your thoughts and changing your thought patterns. It isn’t merely a decision to alter what you allow into your conscious; you have to change what is already in your subconscious. This is because your previous thoughts entered and were processed by your subconscious mind. Then these thoughts were stored in memory banks for later use in your life.
Unfortunately, some won’t allow themselves to change because they only accept what they can see. If people can’t see it, they won’t take it. You have to change your thinking from only believing when you see it to thinking it can happen first, and then you will see the results. It works every time.
Another problem is that people do not always realize what they are thinking. Most people do or think things unconsciously. Because of this, they aren’t even aware of what comes to them since they don’t monitor their thoughts. Whatever happens to them is left to chance.
Whenever I’m with someone who’s struggling in the gutters, I gracefully shift their focus from what they don’t want to what they DO want. I remind them that what you focus on grows more influential in your life and that the best time to focus on the positive and take responsibility for your happiness is when you don’t feel like it. Because that’s when doing so can make the most significant difference.
You may not be responsible for everything that happened to you in the past, or everything that’s happening to you right now. Still, you need to be responsible for undoing the thinking patterns these circumstances create. It’s about thinking better so you can ultimately live better, despite the conditions, even when it is hard, and emotions are trying to knock you down.
The key is to understand that no matter what happens in your life and your environment, you can choose your response, which dictates pretty much everything that happens next. Honestly, the greatest weapon you have against anxiety, negativity, and stress is your ability to choose one present thought over another. To teach your mind to make the best of what you’ve got in front of you, even when it’s far less than you expected.
The world displays a time of significant challenges. Something must be done about climate change, the biodiversity crisis, extreme poverty, massive pollution, coronavirus, etc. Yet, it is easy to show what is wrong with the world. Changing it is a different matter. All meaningful and lasting change starts on the inside and works its way out into the world. Your thoughts are important elements that can motivate this side in all of us, unveiling and encouraging our positive thoughts into a new way of thinking and feeling.
When you change your thoughts, ideas, or beliefs to a more loving and positive vibration, you are creating a wave of healing power and sending it into the world. And that is what we all need right now.
